After changing clothes around underarm sweat, you may be ready to give a prescription a fair try. Start by making its instructions fit the evenings you actually have. Ask the pharmacist to walk through the routine with the packaging in front of you.
Four application checks
-
The applicator. Use the supplied applicator, not fingers or a towel. The instructions specify one pump per underarm once daily before bed, on intact skin.1
-
The timing. Check the waiting periods for shaving, deodorant, exercise and showering before application, and washing afterward.1 Ask the pharmacist to map these onto your routine.
-
The handwashing. Wash hands with soap and water immediately afterward. Avoid touching treated underarms or transferring gel near the eyes.1
-
The drying. Let the gel dry fully for five minutes before clothing. It is flammable: avoid smoking and flames during application and until dry.1
Know when to stop and get advice
Stop and contact a healthcare provider for difficulty passing urine. If vision blurs, stop use and avoid driving or machinery until it resolves. Do not use Sofdra if you are not sweating in hot conditions; reduced sweating can cause heat illness.1
Keep the full Instructions for Use with the product. Ask the prescriber to review your health history and other medicines, and write down which number to use if a problem appears.
Arms Up includes a Fresh Log and visit script. Use them to organize your observations and questions for treatment reviews. See the book.
