Choose an option for Canadian screening

CATSA’s CPAP guidance describes two options for having the device screened:1

  1. Bring a clear plastic bag to place the respiratory device into for screening.
  2. Leave the attachments, including tubes and mask, inside the case and place only the main electronic unit in a bin.1

What about medical documentation?

CATSA says documentation supporting your medical needs or condition is not required. If you feel it would help ease screening, present it to the screening officer with your medically necessary items.1

Keep the screening question specific

You can ask: “I am travelling through a Canadian airport with CPAP. Can you explain these screening options for my device?”1
