Keep it simple. If you want to add a new product, check its label and introduce it thoughtfully. More steps do not automatically mean better skin.
Before trying a new skin-care product
AAD recommends testing a small area before using a new product widely. Use a small spot, such as the inner arm, twice daily for 7 to 10 days, following the product's directions for amount and contact time. If a reaction develops, wash it off and stop using it. A home product trial cannot rule out an allergy or replace medical patch testing. Check with your clinician before testing a prescribed medicine.

Build an AM and PM skincare routine with your own products
Enter the products you already use and any treatment directions you know. Generate separate morning and evening lists, review the reminders, and print or copy your routine card.
Does this skincare routine builder recommend new products?
No. It organizes the product names you enter into a basic routine. It does not choose brands, diagnose your skin, or check ingredient compatibility.
Can I include a prescribed skin treatment?
Yes, when you have directions you can follow. Enter its timing and your own instructions. If the directions are unclear, check them with your clinician or pharmacist rather than guessing.
Behind this tool
Built from AAD guidance on basic application order and sun protection. The cards organize the choices you enter; they do not assess individual products. Research checked October 8, 2026.
