Do Periods Sync When Women Live Together? What Studies Show

Many women are sure their periods sync with roommates, sisters or friends. In a study of 186 Chinese women in dorms for over a year, they didn't, and a reanalysis found the famous first study's syncing was at chance level. Does Acupressure Help Period Cramps? What Trials Show

A review of 77 studies linked cramps with stress, sleeping under 7 hours, going to bed after 11 p.m. and being underweight. These are associations, not proof, but several are things you can change.

10-Day Periods in Perimenopause: How Common They Are, and When to Get Checked

In a study that followed 1,320 women through the menopause transition with daily bleeding calendars, 91% had at least one period that ran 10 days or longer. Long periods are common in these years. ACOG still says bleeding that lasts more days than usual is worth an appointment. Here is what the numbers show and what to bring.
