Interactive body mapPeriod pain body map: printable note for a doctor visit
Mark broad period-pain locations on front and back body maps. Add timing, daily impact and a question, then print a note for a doctor visit.
Describe what you noticed around your period. Location alone cannot tell you the cause of pain. This map records one observation; it does not measure severity or assess urgency.
Care comes before completing a map
Seek emergency help for severe or worsening pelvic pain, especially with faintness, breathing difficulty or heavy vaginal bleeding. Get urgent medical advice for pelvic pain if you are pregnant or might be pregnant. These are examples, not a complete checklist. Do not wait to finish this tool before getting help.
If period pain disrupts your usual activities or your symptoms change, arrange a clinician conversation. Read the full NHS pelvic-pain care guidance.
01 · Describe the area
Where did you notice pain?

Make the most of this tool
Make a period-pain location note for your appointment
Select broad areas that describe one observation. Add when it happened and what it affected, then print both body views and your written note. Left and right always refer to your body.
Can a period-pain body map tell me what causes my pain?
No. Many causes can involve similar areas. This map helps describe what you noticed for a clinician conversation; it does not diagnose a condition or assess urgency.
Can I print the body map without selecting a precise location?
Yes. Choose broad or widespread, hard to describe, or another area when the regions do not fit. You can also print a blank map and add your own marks on paper. The text download contains written selections and notes; printing includes the illustrations.
